Hail The World’s Fastest Man
By TJ for Stani Army in General Cricket, International Cricket, Pakistan Cricket

No, not Shoaib but Usain Bolt. Here’s a quote from the great man:
“When I was really small, I loved the Pakistan cricket team. Waqar Younis was one of the greatest bowlers ever, and I was a bowler so I really enjoyed watching him. I was a big fan until I got older, when I noticed that I should actually support my home team…when I was little, it was all about Pakistan.”
Now there’s a man who knows what he’s talking about! Legend.
Bolt was a bowler! Could you imagine him bowling today? A man whose run-up was as fast as his deliveries, and that’s no insult to his deliveries.
You can hear what he had to say here.

HAHA. Things just keep on looking up for West Indies cricket doesn’t it? Even their own greats weren’t inspired by the Windies.
August 19th, 2009 at 11:37 pm
Yes, reminds me of the Bangladeshi players. They were inspired by Pakistan cricket too. How nice.
August 19th, 2009 at 11:50 pm
Oh be quiet. We didn’t have heroes to look up to then in our own land. The Windies on the other hand had dominated test cricket for decades! VERY different scenario.

Well you should have not got greedy for your ‘own land’ then init? You would have been double World Champs by now…
…and better still, we would have been one and the same…better for you that is, not me.

We got greedy? I see the history has been distorted for you guys. So we should have tolerated the oppression and injustice for World Cup wins eh?
Don’t go there. It’s a sensitive issue. I would like to keep things strictly to cricket.
Speaking of which, help me figure out why sausage fingers won’t slim down: http://cricketminded.blogspot.com/2009/08/why-graeme-smith-wont-lose-weight.html

We tolerate the oppression and injustice, why can’t you? hahahaha Get it? No? The truth is that you liked rice more than chapati, admit it.
I want to help you out…..in fact I’ve just been reading it, but am still awaiting the apology for your cockiness. I will not return Purn (rhyme!) until then.
You’re right. No more getting on your nerves, strictly cricket. Just so easy to wind up arnt you?
So I have to enter your website address for you again? Why can’t you just enter it when you write your comment?
August 20th, 2009 at 12:39 am
What exactly am I apologizing for? You have been making fun of me throughout! You don’t see me demanding an apology
.
I don’t know what you mean by the last line..:S.

Nut case. Back to cricket people.
I heard Usain, the honorary Pakistani (call him Husain!), actually bowled leg breaks…not sure if he meant literally or in the cricketing sense.

I have never read a bitter truth expressed so lightly.

The only Saffer making waves at the IAAF Championship is Caster Semenya.

Yes Bon, I heard about her…him…it. Na, I feel a bit sorry for her. As far as I could tell though, and I’m no expert, all the bulges were in the right place.

Ramadan Mubarak Stani:
Looks like England are going to win Ashes.
August 22nd, 2009 at 12:59 am
Ramadan Mubarak to you too Wasim! Just pray that doesn’t happen or they’ll think their the number 1 Test side in the world again like they did last time.
It’s Australia’s own fault. They just did not pick their strongest line up in any of the Tests in my opinion; their latest mistake, leaving out Hauritz. Regardless of the wicket, I’d never go into a Test without a specialist or a decent spinner.
August 22nd, 2009 at 3:20 pm
Only a miracle can make Ausralia win from here. By not including a spinner Australia made a fatal mistake but their batting also failed comprehensively.
August 22nd, 2009 at 6:29 pm
I told u from day one the Ashes will be England’s btw yet u kept coming up with your own counter arguments to disagree with my verdict.
It’s all light hearted btw that just show that the better pundit is me after all. Doesn’t it?
August 23rd, 2009 at 6:48 am
Wasim,
I agree about Hauritz but I have been surprised by the Australian selection throughout the series. They’ve not gone in any of the Tests with their strongest bowling attack in my opinion. I think that miracle is still possible.
Maz,
Wrong haha! I went for the better side and the better side is Australia. They may lose the series but were it not for selection errors, injuries and to a lesser extent, some awful decisions, they would have backed up the claim. You know this Maz.
And it’s not over yet. If any team can win from here, it’s the Aussies. Don’t forget Maz that they scored 406 in the final innings at Lords and they need just 60 more than that (466) this time around with all their wickets in hand. If I were coach and captain, I’d be reminding the boys of that Lords match and all of a sudden, the impossible will become very possible. And remember, time is not the issue, the Aussies have plenty of that so they can go safe and slow.
Be afraid England, be very afraid.
