A Farewell to Hayden and Ponting

The saddest thing to come out of this tour cancellation….sorry postponement (I must stop saying cancellation!) is that the fans of Pakistan will not get to see one of the best teams for a while come and put their talents on display in Pakistan.
When the tour does eventually go ahead, you can rest assured that the same players will not be involved and it may even be a totally different spectacle altogether as who knows if the Aussies will still be number one at that time.
Recent months have seen many of the Aussies retire in a dignified manner instead of prolonging their careers to the point where they need to use their bats as walking sticks. This raises the question of whether Pakistan fans will ever get to see the talents of the likes of Hayden and Ponting in a test match on Pakistan soil ever again. With Hayden half way to 37 and Ponting 33 not out, it looks as though the answer is probably a no.
What a shame…what a real bummer hey?

Yes, what a bummer indeed. I agree with Imran on a previous post that it would have been a interesting contest. The writer is right here….I would love to have seen Shoaib steaming in to Hayden and Ponting but it looks like it’ll never happen. Sad.

It is a shame, because as an Aussie I feel the Pakistanis with their talent, are the biggest threat to us on any day. But their cricket politics and inconsistency lets them down.
Neutral venue?
