England, Ireland or Scotland?

With Pakistan searching for a home to host Australia next year, the minnows of Ireland and Scotland are emerging as favourites. It has been banded about that one of the reasons for this is that it would help the minnows get more competitive cricket. Pakistan has done a lot for smaller nations in the past (Sri Lanka, Bangladesh) and still is with Afghanistan and China, but the simple reason that the PCB would go for Ireland or Scotland to host their matches is cost.

It would be disappointing if this does happen as not only does England have a larger Pakistani community, it also has world class stadia which Ireland and Scotland cannot provide. Low capacities at open grounds would mean many fans missing out.

Pakistan hosting Australia in England is a very attractive proposition. I think both the ECB and PCB should dig a little deeper and make it happen as it would benefit both boards significantly.

I understand the cost bit, but surely they would attract more public if they hosted in England, rather than Scotland or Ireland. Besides the world class stadiums, the quality of the pitches would also be a concern.

Pak v Aus in Eng.. can’t get better than that.

I think the ECB are asking for too much and the PCB are being too stingy Q.

They can make it happen if they both give a bit more.

Good to see the games are being played in England.

Empty stadiums apart, the weather in Ireland or Scotland could certainly not be guaranteed!

Thanks for the itinerary! As for the weather, let’s hope England doesn’t disappoint either. I urge them to play as many games as they can in the south; purely for weather reasons :) and nothing to do with the fact that I’d be able to watch them.

Well you will get to see the test at Lords.

Should be a unique and great occassion!

The other test is at Headingly I am afraid!
