Pakistan will be going in with the same squad for the second Test in Lahore on Sunday. Though they have put reserves on stand by, it will be difficult to see how they would be pushing for a place especially among the batting line up as you would have had to have been devoid of talent to have batted poorly enough to be dropped on the Karachi track.
As for the bowlers, same again I suppose as I’m sure they’ll get another chance because of the lack of assistance provided to them by the Karachi pitch. So, do not expect to see any of the reserves unless one of the 15 gets injured. I would say at least two of the 5 reserves would count themselves unlucky not being in the first 11 initially let alone the 15 man squad.
Squad: Younus Khan (capt), Salman Butt, Khurram Manzoor, Ahmed Shahzad, Shoaib Malik, Misbah-ul-Haq, Faisal Iqbal, Asim Kamal, Fawad Alam, Yasir Arafat, Danish Kaneria, Kamran Akmal (wk), Umar Gul, Mohammad Talha, Sohail Khan
Reserves: Nasir Jamshed, Shahid Afridi, Sohail Tanveer, Abdur Rauf, Saeed Ajmal.

Indeed…the 1st test would have told us nothing about the players because of the pitch.
I would still drop Iqbal just for the sake of it!

Agree about Iqbal. Kamal should have started ahead of him. They pick him on a flat track and now he’s gonna stay for a while.

There was no point drafting in youngster in a two match series because you won’t learn anything about them especially after one Test is already written off cos of the pitch.
This series has hardly served any purpose.
