Maz,
I think 50 over 0DIs will be around for some time yet. I believe they still provide a test which neither t20 or Test cricket can offer. In the immediate future, I think if any form will suffer it will be t20. I'm not saying it will cease to exist, merely it will be played less.

Jack,
Very true. I also noticed how Nicholas enjoys thrusting his head up the Aussie's behinds....with some vigour I might add.

Maz

Are you sure about the Channel 5 coverage?

Mark Nicholas - The first man to accuse Pakistan of ball tampering when we came to England in 1992 when we played Hampshire.

Simon Hughes - An imbecile who cannot hide his bias. But great at stating the obvious and talking crap.

Boycott - Was good, but now says Pietersen is better than Ponting? Has lost the plot and should be sent to an OAP's home.

Shane Warne recently stated his thoughts on the future of international cricket. He felt that one day cricket is fading away as there is neither excitement nor technical assessment for one to express an interest let it be participating or viewing. Therefore he concluded that T20 and test formats hold the future.

I agree with his future vision. T20 produces a gripping nail biting contest and modernises the sport by bringing new skills and tactical strategies into the reckoning. However, test cricket shall still remain the ultimate assessment in which we can convincingly consider a deserved result due to a larger course of play, in the view that usually the winning side is dominating proceedings for a lustrous period of time and therefore subsequently are the better side.

Waim,
Absolutely, which is why we need him around for Aamer in particular, to pick his brains.

Maz,
No Aamer? I see you have added Rana in place of him. I would keep Aamer as I think he's earned his place. He needs to play now and get established. I would have Rana and Razzaq fighting for one spot but the rest of the team I agree with.

As for he Ashes, it's going to be 1-2 to the Aussies. Pietersen is out and Flintoff will not make the end. Brett Lee will also be back for the 4th Test. The 5 highlights are something I guess for those not willing to pay for Sky's monopoly (me included). BUT! I have to say that Simon Hughes is the most irritating, obnoxious and bias commentator/analyst in cricket. I also hate his shirts....or maybe it's just the fact that it's him wearing them.

Rayden,
I'm glad it cheered you up. Maybe Waqar knows something about Danish that the rest of the world doesn't!? Watch out for Dani boy's quicker one batsmen around the world!

Hi Stani. I would like to share my preferred side ahead of the forthcoming limited over’s series against Sri Lanka.

Imran Nazir
Kamran Akmal (WK)
Younis Khan (C)
Moahmmed Yousuf
Malik
Afridi
Misbah
Razzaq
Rana Naved
Umar Gul
Saed Ajmal

Let me just highlight the immense depth in the batting department this side has if selected. Also Pakistan should certainly benefit from the inclusion of Imran Nazir and Rana Naved. Their experience, skill, speciality and uniqueness were greatly missed and should add some extra” spice” to the ODI outfit for sure. I’m confident of success in these shorter versions of the game with the return of these mouth-watering gifted prospects. I’ve been nagging on about their immense talent on various blogs for an age and how daft the PCB was to abandon their national participation at the expense of pleasing or more like being scared of the rules and regulation enforced by the ICC and BCCI (two boards which have expressed obvious biasness against Pakistan cricket). Anyhow now their back so I’m satisfied.

Stani, are u also following the current ashes series? It’s getting exciting times here in UK with ashes fever igniting the nation. I really back England’s chances this year after that Lords triumph. I also thoroughly enjoy watching the channel 5 highlights show. Great action of key moments, high class commentators and well structured analysis from Simon Hughes. Do u watch and rate the programme as well?
