Cricket bats
Absolutely. There will be problems and issues in every team but at the end of the day you have to do what's best for the team. The Aussies do this the best. Not only do they treat each team member as a grown up but many of them don't even like each other but they get on with it. You never hear them back biting or see them dissenting.

Your quite right Stani Army.

Players who constantly disrupt and destabilse the team off the field should be kicked out for good, no matter how talented they are.

If the team does not harmoize as a unit, they will not enjoy sucess!

Wasim
I agree, this year they will be in demand but if you was to put yourself in the Pakistan players' shoes in and around the time of the last IPL then I'm sure they were resigned to knowing that they were not going to take part. It is for this reason I think it's more point 3 than 1.

Scorpi
I couldn't have put it more concisely myself. I think he's put himself in a bad situation even if he just wanted to come back solely as a player.

Reverse
No problems at all.

Cricket Bats
The problem is that even though it is quite clear that all these games are going on within the squad, the administration is happy to just sit there and let it happen rather than disciplining. The whole squad needs to be pulled up and the main culprits need to be made an example of for example, as Wasim suggested, dropping a couple of them.

This is not a good situation for Pakistani Cricket, the constant instability in the background will only serve to destabilise performance on the field.

Pakistan are a much better team on paper than they are on the field. This will continue as long as the power struggles continue.

In the name of Pakistan sort this out!!

Sadly he blew it. He has lost all credibility after all the ruckus he created. He wants everything on a platter. Sorry folks... He took the easy way out and too often too.

Stani

The bans were not indefinite the players knew they will come back. Malik, Afridi, Asif, Akhtar and Yousaf all got good deals better than the Aussie players with the exception of Symonds.

Misbah, Umar Gul and Sohail Tanvir were the only players who couldn't get a decent amount.
But this year you wait and watch Afridi, Umar Gul, Kamran Akmal and Aamir all of them will get huge contracts.

Wasim
It is a bit strange but maybe, as Reverse suggested, this is what we're good at, twenty20. To be honest, I remember a couple of shambolic performances in twenty20 but they were under Inzi.

Also, in twenty20, the pressure is off and batsmen go in with a more attacking mindset. In the other formats, they go in with a less positive mindset in wanting to guard their wicket. I think this can go some way in explaining the difference.

I agree our twenty20 team is more consistent in terms of the 11 being picked. But why it is not the same for 50 ODIs, I do not know. In all honesty, we should probably only need to make two changes from our twenty20 side to our ODI side.

Reverse
I agree, the captaincy comes with lots of benefits; may be that's why so many of our players go after it. I have been arguing the point about a Australian board/back-room staff, with our talent, for quite some time now and am glad quite a few share the view.

As for point no.1, I'd be surprised if our players were doing as so. The reason being that we've been banned from IPL for most of the time and even when our players did initially participate, it was not many and their contracts were not huge, comparatively speaking. That's why I think it's mostly point no.3 and the various aspects related to it such as our mentality and natural talent.

Reverse

The more you have of a thing the less you want it, Test matches or Odis are not going to fade away as you said.

We have to fix our middle order before the 2011 WCup.
